On Friday June 2nd 2023, a collection of people received a phishing text message from 623-224-0188 claiming to be our CEO, David Kolbe.

We are currently investigating this situation as it appears that there have been a handful of people that have received the same text message from the same phone number, which is NOT David Kolbe's number. Our initial analysis leads us to believe that the issue lies outside of our systems due to the phone numbers that have been contacted. We will keep you posted regarding our investigation.

The messages received are as follows:

"Hello YOUR NAME"

"This is David Kolbe, let me know if you get my text. Thanks!"

We strongly recommend that you block all future inbound messages from that number. If you can report it as spam, please do.

Actions taken as of 6/6/2023:

  • Investigated our Kolbe Corp systems for all targeted phone numbers (no findings all recipients in the same data pools).

  • Submitted spam abuse to Twilio and to Apple.

  • Reviewed behavior and devices of key personnel that might have any association with situation.

  • Monitoring inbound notifications regarding clients experiencing the same situation.

Refer back to this article for the latest details. We will continue to post updates as needed.
